BEHR Premium 1-Part Epoxy (No. 900) is a ready-to-use, water-based epoxy-acrylic floor paint sold at Home Depot. It’s popular because there’s nothing to mix, and it works on driveways, porches and pool decks as well as garage floors.

What It Is
It’s a self-priming, one-part coating that resists hot tire pickup, automotive fluids and most household chemicals. BEHR recommends it for garage floors, driveways, basement floors, porches and pool decks, but not for industrial areas with forklift traffic.
Pros
- No mixing, no pot life, and easy soap-and-water cleanup
- Can be used outdoors, unlike most 2-part garage epoxies
- Tintable to many colors
- Self-priming, though bare concrete still needs to be cleaned and etched
Cons
- Behaves like a heavy-duty paint, not a thick two-part epoxy
- Needs several days before heavy use; follow the label for vehicle traffic
- Can be slippery when wet; BEHR sells an anti-slip additive (No. 970)
- Won’t hold up to moisture coming up through the slab
Who Should Buy It
It’s a good choice for refreshing porches, basement floors and lightly used garages where convenience matters most. For a garage you park in daily, a two-part system like EpoxyShield or a professional epoxy will hold up better. See best epoxy floor coatings.
Application Tips
- Clean and etch bare concrete, then spot-prime bare areas.
- Don’t thin it; apply thin, even coats with a 3/8″ nap roller.
- Allow longer dry times in cool or humid weather.
