Eagle Supreme Seal is a solvent-based acrylic sealer sold at Home Depot and Lowe’s. It gives stamped, colored and exposed aggregate concrete a deep, glossy “wet look.”
| Type | Film-forming acrylic sealer |
| Chemistry | Solvent-based acrylic, non-yellowing |
| Finish | High-gloss wet look |
| Coverage | About 200 sq. ft./gal on stamped/colored concrete; about 300 sq. ft./gal on smooth-troweled |
| Best for | Stamped, colored, stained and exposed aggregate concrete |
| Versions | Standard and CARB-compliant (low-VOC) formulas |
What It Is
Supreme Seal leaves a hard, clear acrylic film that darkens and enriches concrete color. Eagle recommends it for decorative concrete. For plain broom-finish driveways, its water-based Satin Seal gives less darkening.
Pros
- Deep color enhancement and a true wet look
- Solvent-based acrylics usually bond and hold up better outdoors than water-based ones
- Can be recoated with compatible solvent-based acrylics
- Easy to find at home centers
Cons
- Strong solvent odor; use with ventilation and follow flammability warnings
- Must go over bare concrete or a compatible solvent-based sealer; test first
- High gloss can be slippery when wet; consider an anti-slip additive
- Like any acrylic, it needs periodic resealing outdoors
Who Should Buy It
It’s a good fit for homeowners who want stamped or colored concrete to look rich and glossy. If you want protection without changing the look, choose a penetrating sealer instead. See best penetrating concrete sealers and best decorative concrete sealer.
Application Tips
- Apply thin coats with a roller or sprayer. Thick coats can bubble or turn white.
- Apply to clean, completely dry concrete.
- Don’t apply in direct hot sun or before rain.
