What It Is
Clear-Seal protects and refreshes concrete and masonry indoors or out, including pool decks, patios, porches, driveways, garages, pavers, stamped concrete, brick, stone, exposed aggregate and slate. It’s low odor and low VOC.
Pros
- Water-based, so it has low odor and easy cleanup
- Urethane fortification adds toughness over a basic acrylic
- Works over paint and stain as a protective clear coat
- Satin option keeps the look subtle
Cons
- It’s a surface film, so it will need recoating outdoors over time
- Not for slabs with moisture coming up from the ground; Rust-Oleum points those customers to a moisture-stop product instead
- Gloss version can be slippery when wet
Who Should Buy It
It’s a good fit for homeowners who want an easy, low-odor clear coat over stained, painted or decorative concrete. For driveways exposed to road salt, a penetrating sealer will last longer. See best concrete driveway sealers and best acrylic concrete sealers.
